Jayrah Gibson, Founder

Jayrah aka (Rah) is Founder of the Million Youth Peace March and CEO of The Agape Academy.  has been described as the new R&B sensation, winning over all genres of  audiences with his sassy irresistible personality and unique vocal sound. He is definitely making his mark in the entertainment industry . Jayrah's gift as a singer, song writer and producer  landed him the opportunities to collaborate with greats such as Rufus Blaq, the Stereotypes and other top ten billboard and Grammy award winning producers and writers.

 

In addition to skillfully studying under his mother, Kitra, Jayrah studied Stevie Wonder brilliance in song writing and singing. Brian McKnight, Usher, Musiq Soulchild are other great influences of Jayrah.  Jayrah was the first winning  musical artist for  Harvey Pierre, Vice President of Bad Boy Entertainment for P . Diddy’s “The Making of The Band.” Jayrah’s  most recent accomplishment was a dynamic star studded appearance on American Idol as a national contestant. He pierced the hearts of Americans abroad with his sultry melodic version of Music Soulchild’s “Just Friends.”Jayrah is Vice Vice President and Co-founder with his mother for America;s first Million Youth Peace March International on Capitol Hill, this annual mentoring program encourages youth against gang and gun violence nation -wide. Prior years saw gaining Kitra gained favorable recognition as she was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for her acting excellence in the starr roll of “The Fabric Of A Man”! She is known for repeatedly delivering magnificent show-stopping performances. Her starring roll in the movie Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, along with her leading rolls in ,Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” playwright Michael Mathew’s hit musical dramas, “Come Out of the Rain,” and “No Place to Lay My Head” and  Playwright David E. Talbert’s hit musical “The Fabric of a Man,” which can be found across the nation, world- wide in Blockbusters Videos. Kitra’s amazing ability to intertwine acting with singing has left audiences in awe - - partly due to her opera training in college.

National recording artist on Norman Hutchins digitalgospeldownloads.com and actress of Oprah Winfrey’s Broadway musical, “The Color Purple”, KITRA WILLIAMS, was voted outstanding in her leading role performance with Bishop T. D. Jakes' masterpiece stage play, "Woman, Thou Art Loosed."  Kitra sold out to performances throughout the country sending audiences on a spiritual emotional roller coaster through her ability to intertwine ministry with the arts!

Kitra is Co-founder and of "the Agape Gospel Academy and Agape Awards. The Agape Academy is currently housed in Virginia. The academy is a Performing Arts School, offering scholarship opportunities to multi-culture youth and young adults desiring to cultivate their talents in the arts of Theater, and Family and faith-based film.

With a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Cheney State College (Cheney, PA), Kitra also received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theology from Christ is the Answer University (Hollandale, FL).  This was surprisingly received at the end of a Shirley Caesar Concert in which Kitra was the featured guest soloist!   Kitra’s heartfelt passion for youth landed her a position as Vocal Coach and Theatrical Director for the Amazing Grace Conservatory, chaired by actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, co-star of the Steve Harvey Show

 

Kitra is also a community activist!  She is excited about joining forces with her son Jayrah Gibson, former American Idol Contestant and currently a publisher for Warner Brothers! Jarah is the brain-child and Co-Founder of America’s First “Million Youth Peace March International” on Washington. Together they have organized this amazing annual mentoring program, which encourages youth against violence, bulling and domestic violence. This March is used as a annual mentoring program and national platform to bridge the gap between our nation’s youth and it’s community leaders. More importantly it allows the youth an opportunity to voice their concerns about the senseless killings taking place through-out the world. .
